+1 Just want to chime in on this one. The ability to change date format is really needed, especially since the interface is translated into several languages that should use other formats by default.

This would be really appreciated. My preferred (and somewhat standard) date format (in my part of the world) is DD/MM/YYYY. Using the US/American Format is a bit weird and confusing when one is not used to that format.
