Compact Mind Maps / Org Charts

Nodes and branches in the current mind map and org chart implementations are too far apart; they take too much screen real estate.
Introducing a setting to control the distribution of mind map elements would make diagrams more flexible and readable.

You're spot on — when nodes sprawl too far apart, mind maps become hard to read and even harder to present. Real estate is precious, especially on smaller screens or when a diagram has dozens of branches.
We've been steadily improving the mind map view (v6.31 brought mindmap loading improvements and better view mode stability), but a dedicated density or spacing control is still something we haven't shipped yet. Your specific ask — a setting to control distribution of mind map elements — is well understood and genuinely useful.
As we continue evolving the canvas and diagram views, this kind of layout customization is exactly the type of thing we want to add. In the meantime, Taskade Genesis can generate structured outlines and org charts from natural language, which can sometimes be easier to manage than hand-built ones: https://taskade.com/create
