Create sub-folders / enable subfolders in a tree folder structure

The Tree Folder structure is super intuitive for all platform users to organize items. I think replacing the 'SUBSPACES' under a workspace with the 'Tree Folder Structure' would immensely increase the user experience. Also, no need to educate new users about SUBSPACE (new jargon) and its functionality. Tree depth can be limited for free users if worried about the resources and implied cost.

Project Organization and Right Click Context Menu Items

I would like to have folders for my projects, its daunting having all of my projects just in one workspace.
Right clicking should allow us to have some kind of functionality, currently it just says "(empty)" should be able to have a "Move", "copy", "delete", etc.

I was thinking of purcahsing teams subscription, BUT, was a bit shocked to see this. This is a very basic thing which is must for organising things, while comparing tools, to choose, I didn't even look for this feature as its understood and almost all the competitors have it. This feature might be the main reason for me having to skip on taskade and look for competitors. Hope they implement this soon in future. (Yeah we can link projects, but when thinking of organising a lot of files (Maybe SOPs/Standard Checklists) etc. Having dozens of them lumped together Is not a great way. )

It's hard to understand that this ticket has been open for 3 years in 5 days.
A tree view that allows seeing below the folder level would just be so helpful:
Workspace
- Folder
-- Project A
-- Project B
And inside the tree view could be "dummy" folders without functionality beyond grouping for now
Workspace
- Folder
-- GroupFolder A
--- Project A.A
--- Project A.B
-- GroupFolder B
--- Project B.A
They wouldn't even need to show up anywhere else for people to have a solution and in the future more could be added
And then again Jira had an open issues for 20 Years "Ability to add watchers during issue creation" with 1123 votes before it got implemented. So sometimes the important but small fixes do get lost

patrickw: You think we can beat that 20 year record? Jokes aside, I've been pushing heavily for this feature. It's not exactly the simplest thing to implement as it requires a lot of modifications to our existing structure.
Here's my proposal:
- Rename our current folders to something like "Subspaces" or "Teams."
- Introduce "Folders" that simply group projects together (think of Gmail Labels).
- Folders would inherit Templates, Agents, and Automations from the Workspace.
What are your thoughts?

Narek ZograbianI haven't thought about all the implications but the suggestion sounds great.

patrickw Thanks for confirming!

Subfolders are very needed, when running automations to create new projects there is a lot of mess after a short time

Folders (and subfolders) for Projects

Would be nice to organize projects into folders. The long list of projects can be...annoying.

Any examples, screenshots❓

This is seriously needed for people who have many projects/pages.. AI Automations should be able to create a project within these sub-folders. Taskade team please take care of it.

I am testing Taskade at the moment. It seems brillian in many ways. But the lack of subfolders is a serious drawback.

I use one project to DROP IN quickly research information and I tried reorganise from this pinned but NO WAY TO DO as the menu structure so stupid simple and primitive - THIS MAKE USELESS in many case

I will preface this by saying that I'm loving Taskade so far. I see huge amounts of potential. While the AI features are cutting edge, some very basic features like nested folders, nested tags, and task priorities as an attribute are missing. These are features that are in most of the competitors like Notion and Obsidian.
Please prioritize these three basic features if possible by the end of 2Q2024. Then, all of us users can focus on the exceptional things that Taskade can do rather than focusing on the small but annoying things it can't do.
