I'd like to import a Database or Spreadsheet from another program into Taskade as a Table.
Great for switching from Notion.

Import CSV to support translating excel columns into taskade custom fields

As a person who works a lot with excel and google sheets, i think it would be a great to have an option to populate uploaded excel file columns to existing custom fields, it can be done manually or auto populated if the custom field name matches with excel column name

Hi there, we have recently released this feature, it is found in the same area as the previous import CSV feature. Now it will give you a preview of the first 100 rows in your CSV file and allow you tweak the column type by the "Cog" icon beside the column name.
Note that it will default all columns to text, and it will not allow you to change it to Single Select if there are more than 20 unique entries in that column.
Also note if you change the field to Numbers and if the cells contain text, they will appear as blank.
The upper limit for this due to performance reasons is 300 rows.
If there are further requests please create a separate post of them.

This is live now.

narek: Nope it isn't, it is currently feature flagged and undergoing QA.

ryantaskade Oh you're right! That was on the staging environment on the livestream. My bad.

Note there are currently a few ways to import .CSV into Taskade. However, you have to manually set the project view to
TABLE VIEW
after conversion. We will support Custom Fields creation for CSV > Table in the future. For now it simply converts to Taskade's structured documents to the best of ability via import.
Current Import CSV Options.
- New Project > Import > Convert CSV into Project Directly.
- New Project > Generate with AI > Add CSV as Knowledge > Generate a Project with the context of the CSV https://help.taskade.com/en/articles/8958450-ai-project-studio
- New AI Agent > Edit Agent Knowledge > Upload CSV as Agent Knowledge.
