Planner

There is no functionality to help us prioritize or plan tasks. Taskade helps with planning a project but not on the prioritization side.
Having a Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Planner would help with prioritizing certain tasks and goals.
I imagine this having a drag-and-drop interface. Each day would be a column, and you can list which tasks you want to focus on. These tasks would be displayed on the side and pulled from My Tasks. It's essentially having a planner with My Tasks embedded on the side.
It should support multi-select for tasks. Dragging and dropping the tasks onto a specific day would not change the due date of the task.
This requires a couple of things to keep in mind:
- When you start working on a task is often different from when a task is due.
- When a task is due is not necessarily the date that you started working on the task.
This planner would be for prioritizing your work throughout the day. If you have a ton of tasks, it's easier to focus on a select few.
I may have 19 tasks due today, but I want to focus on getting 3 of them done today and 10 of them done tomorrow. I'd like to be able to block out time on my calendar for that. I can't do that with Taskade.
It becomes much easier if I can decide which tasks I'm going to focus on for the day, week, or month. Then, it would be great if Taskade could track when I completed it from the due date.
If you implement the daily planner, you can eventually add on reporting as well.
- See the percentage of tasks completed on time
- Daily Summary of tasks completed on that day
This would also set some groundwork for an AI-Assisted Calendar implementation.
If you create the Task Inbox functionality, you can eventually add a quick add in the planner section as well.
Time Tracking would also become easier when you're focusing on a specific task. You'd have the task exist in a project. The project is tied to a workspace—which is usually a client.
Time Tracking would become easier by starting the timer for a certain task manually. Then this information can be aggregated and tagged per workspace in daily summaries and reporting.

Any idea if this is something that will be part of Taskade in the near future? If so, any eta?

azedgetech: I'm not too sure. I've mentioned it to the team before, but it's not a priority at the moment. It would require a bunch of other features too. This is more focused on time-tracking and resource allocation.

100% agree on The Planner piece.
I currently do my day planning elsewhere right now but would be awesome to have it all in Taskade!

I wish you could focus more on UX currently. Taskade is packed full of features, but I am currently dying from an overload while the usability is still sub-par. It must be easy to plan tasks, days, and manage to-do-lists over all areas. There are several really good suggestions here. Split-Screens, Planners, adjustable Homescreens, ...
But we need this as a priority, it is currently the weakest point of Taskade.
There is also an application that has been on AppSumo that could be a good inspiration. It‘s not working well, but the idea is interesting. It‘s called „Before Sunset“ and uses AI automatically schedule tasks throughout the day/week. Easy daily planning processes would really be a gamechanger, I was searching for it for quite some time.
Answering a previous question, I think it would be best if it would be offered at the workspace level.

Note Taking and planner request

I would love for the Taskade team to put a notes and planner app or inbuilt it into Taskade because I love your app and believe that people can access it more than any other note taking and planner app like goodnotes

I agree with Narek. Time blocking and weekly planning are two of the most important concepts of knowledge worker productivity. To fully manage the complex tasks that knowledge workers do, tasks need to have following parameters that are inherent:
Task Status: Not started, In progress, Cancelled, Completed
Task Priority: Lowest, Low, Medium, High, Highest
Task Dates: Start Date, Scheduled Date, Due Date, Recurring
The ability to drag items from My Tasks list to a calendar to block scheduling would be really powerful. Then, as Narek suggested, AI could be added in the future to suggest optimized calendar blocking based on user preferences for deep work, creative work, and busy work!
In my humble opinion, this type of functionality would take Taskade from a really good task manager to a really good productivity management tool.
