Relative due dates for template tasks

I'd like to make templates that have reusable tasks with due dates, but those due dates are
relative
to the project START DATE. So if task1 would be due 4 days after project start, task2 due 10 days after project start...etc.
That would make my recurring projects much easier to schedule and get on the calendar.

One thing to add - if the due dates can be set relative to either the due date or creation date, I think this would be most useful for automating tasks as some are relative to when they start, and others are relative to when theyre due for us.

jritzinger: Do you want this from the automation section or you would want to set it up at the template section?

Setup 'set' periods for project flows

It would be an amazing feature if you could also set 'periods' for certain tasks. For example: every two weeks from the start date of the project you have to check 'X'. So when the project starts at Jan 1, 2023, 'check X' should be linked to due date Jan 15, 2023.
So basically you have to be able to do two things: set a start date, not just a due date, and also to be able set up periods for task flows and recurring tasks too.

Want to leave a comment here to hopefully breath some life into this request. It is great to be able to schedule a template to create itself now,(ex: Weekly Tasks) but this doesn't add any of said tasks to the "My Tasks" page, and requires manual due date assignment per task - this can be easily missed, rendering the task management portion of a task management app unhelpful at worst and tedious at best.

I know this is a somewhat old thread, but I also would like relative due dates for tasks in templates. I work in accounting. I have lots of the same complex tasks to complete each month, each quarter, etc. I would love to be able to create a template of those tasks and give subtasks a due date relative to the due date of the entire template.

Adding to this, I actually have several project templates where I need to build the dates out from the project END date. I do corporate training, so I often know the date of the training, and have to build out my timeline from that date. It would be wonderful if we could build templates in which we can choose that the task starts X days before OR after a certain date.

Thanks Jeff biguidi, we will look into this as we have just recently improved templates so now any add-ons from templates and projects will automatically be copied over when you duplicate/copy a project or template.

This is something that I was hoping to find when I joined Taskade. Being able to have relative dates saves a lot of time and you can also show clients/stakeholders how dates affect the project when they fall behind. This is a feature that I think Clickup has.
