The "Archived" Property on Folders / Workspaces
planned
yolk
Not sure if this is necessarily required. I don't have a use case other than hiding them or not listing them with my toy CLI. (Most of my use cases only require a single project and a place on the project
after::taskId
at the moment.)If I were to list all workspaces / folders it may be useful to know if the folder is Archived, so I skip fetching them and displaying them to the user for selecting from their familiar taxonomy of Workspace -> Folder -> Project.

Thanks for this — it is a sensible API quality-of-life ask. You are right that when building CLI tools or custom UIs on top of the API, being able to filter archived folders and workspaces server-side would save unnecessary round trips.
The app itself handles archived states (we even renamed some archive-related labels for clarity in v5.184.0), but surfacing an archived boolean in the API response is the cleaner solution for builders like yourself.
We are tracking this alongside the related completed property request for projects. Both point toward the same need: richer metadata on the core objects returned by the API. We will consider them together in our next API metadata pass.
In the meantime, if you are building automation on top of the API, Taskade Genesis agents can also help orchestrate workspace state management: https://taskade.com/create
Thanks for the well-considered feedback — API builder perspectives are incredibly valuable to us!
